Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz highlights Basant preparations in Lahore

Lahore  (Web Desk): Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, in a special message on the occasion of the Basant festival, highlighted that Basant is an ancient and cherished cultural tradition of Punjab, celebrated with great enthusiasm by the people.

She emphasized that while the government respects and supports public celebrations, the safety of human lives remains the highest priority. To ensure this, a comprehensive and foolproof monitoring system has been put in place.

Furthermore, a dedicated control room has been established to prevent any untoward incidents and to enforce the law effectively.

Addressing concerns about the younger generation’s disconnect from their mother tongue, Maryam Nawaz pointed out that unfortunately, children have been led to believe that speaking Punjabi is a sign of illiteracy, and she stressed the need to change this perception.

To promote Punjabi language and reconnect children with their roots, special signboards have been installed throughout the city to highlight the significance of the mother tongue.
