Islamabad (Web Desk): Israel has taken into custody former Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) senator Mushtaq Ahmad Khan after intercepting an aid flotilla headed for Gaza, according to the Palestine Action Coalition of Pakistan.
Khan was at the helm of a five-member delegation from Pakistan that joined the Global Sumud Flotilla on its mission to deliver assistance to Palestinians.
The Pak–Palestine Forum confirmed his detention through a social media statement, urging the public to demand his release along with other foreign participants.

The group declared that Israeli occupation forces had seized him, calling this a critical moment to raise voices for his freedom and for the international volunteers traveling with him.
As per the Forum, Israeli forces intercepted most of the flotilla’s ships, though one vessel managed to break away. That boat was tasked with monitoring the situation and making a safe withdrawal.
Pakistani representative Syed Uzair Nizami, who was aboard the observer vessel, reported that Khan’s ship was among those captured.
The Global Sumud Flotilla is made up of more than 40 civilian boats carrying food and medicine to Gaza, with nearly 500 lawmakers, lawyers, and activists on board.
The tracking feed of the Sumud Flotilla revealed that a vessel successfully entered Gaza’s maritime zone even after facing obstruction from Israeli forces, while more than two dozen boats pressed on toward the blockaded strip.
As per Al Jazeera reports, the ships nearest to Gaza were still about 50 to 60 kilometers, or roughly 31 to 37 miles, off its coast.
