PM Imran condoles with Tezgam train victims' families, orders immediate inquiry

Islamabad (Web Desk): Prime Minister Imran Khan has expressed deep grief and sorrow over Tezgam train fire incident.

“Deeply saddened by the terrible tragedy of the Tezgam train. My condolences go to the victims' families & prayers for the speedy recovery of the injured,” PM Imran said in a tweet. “I have ordered an immediate inquiry to be completed on an urgent basis,” he added.

At least 70 people including women and children were killed on Thursday when three bogies of a Tezgam train caught fire near Liaqatpur city.

As per details, the train was bound from Karachi to Rawalpindi. The fire was caused by a cylinder blast that occurred in the morning when passengers were preparing their breakfast.

The fire destroyed three of the train’s carriages, including two economy class carriages and one business class.
The dead and injured have been shifted to DHQ Hospital in Liaqatpur.
