Karachi (Staff Report): The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Friday issued orders to release former petroleum minster Dr. Asim Hussain on bail in corruption cases worth Rs 479 billion after the accused provided his passports that were being held by the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) for another case.
Earlier on Thursday, SHC rejected the bail petition of Dr. Asim Hussain for not providing the passport, however, when the ATC returned the passports being held in a case regarding aiding treatment for criminals, the accused was able to furnish them before the high court and secure bail.
Along with his passports, Dr. Asim has secured bail on medical grounds after submitting surety bonds to the value of Rs 5,000,000.
Earlier on Friday, the hospital had made all arrangements for Dr. Asim Hussain’s release. He is now going to be shifted from the Jinnah Post Graduate Medical Complex to the Ziauddin Hospital.
