True leadership rests on character, not position: APSUP Chairman Professor Dr. Chaudhry Abdul Rehman

Multan (Web Desk): Chairman of the Association of Private Sector Universities of Pakistan (APSUP), Professor Dr. Chaudhry Abdul Rehman, addressing a seminar in Multan, highlighted the importance of personal reform as a solution to the global leadership crisis. He stressed that leadership is not merely about authority or position, but is deeply rooted in character. According to him, unless individuals at the grassroots level improve their own values and conduct, the broader crisis of leadership cannot be resolved.

Dr. Abdul Rehman pointed out that the issue of leadership deficiency is not confined to Pakistan but is prevalent around the world. He asserted that Pakistan has a unique leadership model that is rarely found even in Western societies, adding that this distinct model can be a guiding framework if fully recognized and implemented.

During his speech, he paid tribute to noted educationist and political figure Mian Aamir Mehmood, calling him a benefactor of the nation. He praised Mian Aamir’s contributions to the education sector, acknowledging his role in establishing more than 400 colleges and three universities across the country, thereby providing opportunities to thousands of students.

Concluding his remarks, Dr. Abdul Rehman reiterated that the path to resolving the leadership vacuum lies in strengthening both individual and collective character. He emphasized that when individuals uphold integrity, discipline, and responsibility, true leadership naturally emerges, benefiting not just institutions but the entire nation.
