Peshawar (Web Desk): Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Tuesday criticised Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-led government for inflation in the country.
Addressing a rally held to mark PPP’s 54th foundation day in Peshawar, the PPP chief said that the entire burden of PTI-IMF deal has been shifted to the common man.
Bilawal Bhutto said “dummy” chief minister of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) tried to stop today’s public gathering at the behest of Prime Minister Imran Khan. “The mammoth crowd present in the rally is a proof that people of Peshawar are with PPP,” he added.
He also hit out at opposition parties’ alliance, Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), saying that even it could not stage such a power show against the government.
The PPP chief also accused the PTI-led government of plotting to rig the next general elections under the guise of overseas Pakistanis’ voting rights and electronic voting machines (EVMs).
Bilawal said there should be a separate electoral college for overseas Pakistanis and they should have their own representatives in the parliament.
Referring indirectly to ongoing negotiations with the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Bilawal said that the incumbent government surrendered before the terrorists.
He said the government was holding talks with elements involved in heinous crimes and who massacred innocent children of Army Public School (APS).
Speaking about the alleged leaked audio conversations of former chief justice Saqib Nisar and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) vice-president Maryam Nawaz, Bilawal said PPP will form the next government through the public mandate and not via conspiracies.
“After a long struggle and unprecedented sacrifices, only PPP can pave the way for democracy in Pakistan,” Bilawal said, adding that only PPP’s manifesto and strategy can make the homeland of 220 million Pakistanis a truly democratic and welfare state.
The PPP chief further said that the PPP is a revolutionary movement based on the ideology of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, the philosophy of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, and the struggles and sacrifices of many generations.
Bilawal claimed the people of Peshawar would hold the PTI accountable in upcoming local government elections,
"The time has come for real democracy to be established in Pakistan and for the end of the reign of selected regimes,” the PPP chief vowed.
