PM Shehbaz reaffirms Pakistan’s role to facilitate Iran-US dialogue

Islamabad (Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to facilitating dialogue between Iran and the United States, underlining the country’s determination to contribute positively toward easing tensions.

He expressed these views during a meeting in Islamabad on Sunday with Turkiye’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Egypt’s Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdelatty.

The prime minister took the opportunity to brief the visiting dignitaries on Pakistan’s ongoing diplomatic initiatives aimed at promoting peace.

PM Shehbaz emphasized the urgent need for coordinated efforts to halt the ongoing violence, which has resulted in substantial loss of life, widespread destruction, and economic strain not only in Iran but across several other Muslim nations.

In a warm exchange, the prime minister also extended his personal greetings to Turkiye’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, recalling his recent discussions with both leaders.

The visiting Foreign Ministers shared their countries’ perspectives on the conflict in the Middle East and commended Pakistan’s constructive role. They praised the leadership of PM Shehbaz, DPM Dar and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir in navigating this challenging situation.

PM Shehbaz was assisted by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, National Security Adviser Lieutenant General Muhammad Asim Malik, SAPM Tariq Fatemi and Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch.
