Election commission to hold key meeting on reserved seats verdict tomorrow

Islamabad (Web Desk):  The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has called a crucial meeting tomorrow to discuss the implementation of the Supreme Court’s recent decision concerning reserved seats.

According to sources, the meeting will focus on formulating a strategy to execute the court’s ruling and may consider withdrawing the notification that had suspended the allocation of reserved seats. The reinstated Peshawar High Court decision will also be reviewed during the session.

The meeting will be chaired by the Chief Election Commissioner and attended by all ECP members along with the legal team to deliberate on the way forward.

The Supreme Court on June 27 approved review petitions against its earlier verdict on reserved seats, a ruling that led to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) losing some of its reserved seats.
