9 civilians martyred in Afghan Taliban's unprovoked cross-border shelling in KP's Bajaur

Islamabad/Bajaur (Web Desk): A tragic incident has been reported from the Pakistan-Afghanistan border region of Bajaur, where civilians were targeted in cross-border shelling by the Afghan Taliban regime.

According to officials, nine civilians including members of a same family were martyred in unprovoked shelling from Afghanistan.

As reported by Bureau Chief Neo News Islamabad, Javed Baloch, the Deputy Commissioner of Bajaur has confirmed in an official list of martyrs that all those killed in the incident were unarmed and innocent civilians.

The deceased include three women and six innocent children, a development that has triggered widespread grief, anger, and fear across the affected areas.

Sources further indicated that incidents of cross-border aggression from Afghanistan have seen a noticeable increase during the months of March and April in the border regions of Bajaur.

Areas including Mamund and Salarzai have been particularly affected, where mortar shells were reportedly fired from across the border multiple times.

Border authorities and local administration have strongly condemned the incident and confirmed that the injured were immediately shifted to nearby hospitals for urgent medical treatment.

Security in the region has been placed on high alert, while relief and assistance measures have also been initiated for the affected families by the government.

The incident has once again heightened concerns over cross-border tensions, with local residents expressing fear and calling for stronger measures to ensure the safety of civilian populations living along the frontier.
