PSL 10: Islamabad United win toss, decide to bowl first against Lahore Qalandars

Lahore (Web Desk): In the 19th match of the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10, Islamabad United won the toss and chose to bowl first against Lahore Qalandars at Lahore's historic Gaddafi Stadium on Wednesday.

Lahore Qalandars have had a rollercoaster season so far, with three wins and three losses in their six outings. However, they come into this fixture with renewed confidence following a five-wicket triumph over Multan Sultans, where they successfully chased a target of 186 runs with an over to spare.

On the other hand, Islamabad United remain unbeaten and sit comfortably at the top of the table with five wins in as many matches. Their most recent victory also came against Multan Sultans, a commanding performance in which they chased 169 runs in just 17.1 overs.

In terms of their head-to-head record, Islamabad holds a narrow advantage with 10 wins to Lahore’s 9 from their previous 19 encounters  a rivalry that has consistently delivered thrilling matches over the years.

Lahore Qalandars are expected to stick with their unchanged playing XI, buoyed by strong performances from Fakhar Zaman, Daryl Mitchell, and Sikandar Raza. Their pace attack, led by captain Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf, remains one of the most formidable in the tournament.

Islamabad United, riding high on momentum, are also unlikely to alter their winning combination. Their squad boasts a strong mix of international stars and local talent, performing with remarkable consistency across all departments.
