Rawalpindi (Web Desk): Six army personnel, including a captain, were martyred, while seven terrorists were neutralized in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Kurram District, the military's media wing said on Wednesday.

According the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation, based on intelligence regarding the presence of India-backed terrorists linked to the Fitna al-Khawarij group, took place in the Dogar area.

During the encounter, intense gunfire led to the loss of Captain Noman Saleem, a 24-year-old medical officer from Mianwali District, who was not only providing medical care but also participated in the combat and made the ultimate sacrifice.

Alongside Captain Noman, five other soldiers—Havildar Amjad Ali, Naik Waqas Ahmed, Sepoy Ejaz Ali, Sepoy Muhammad Waleed, and Sepoy Muhammad Shahbaz—also laid down their lives in the operation.

The ISPR emphasized that clearance operations in the region are ongoing to eliminate any remaining militant threats.

The military remains steadfast in its commitment to countering terrorism under Operation Azm-e-Istiqbaal until the region is free from such elements.
