Rawalpindi (Web Desk): Pakistan Army’s captain martyred during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Tank, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Thursday.
According to the military’s media affairs wing, security forces conducted an operation after receiving information about the presence of terrorists in the area. During the exchange of fire, Captain Sikander — who was 27-years-old and hailed from Pakpattan — was martyred, it added.
“TTP terrorist commander Khawaza din alias Sher Khan was also killed. Weapons and ammunition [were] recovered from the hideout,” the statement read.
On Tuesday, At least 10 terrorists including four commanders were killed in an Intelligence Based Operation (IBO) carried out by the security forces in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s South Waziristan district.
The forces conducted the operation reported presence of a militant hideout — where terrorists and the security forces exchanged heavy fire.
“During intense exchange of fire, 10 terrorists including 4 terrorist commanders were killed,” the ISPR said and added, “A large quantity of weapons and ammunition was also recovered from the hideout.”
