Islamabad (Web Desk): A group of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senators on Monday condemned the violence that took place in the country on May 9 following the arrest of party chief and former premier Imran Khan Khan.
Addressing a news conference in Islamabad on Monday, they paid tributes to the services and sacrifices of armed forces for the peace and security of the country.
They said the security personnel rendered their lives for a better future of the country.
Senator Seemee Ezdi said that she condemned the events of May 9 and the attack on military installations, adding that she hailed from an army background.
She demanded that the events of May 9 be investigated so that the perpetrators could be held accountable.
It is pertinent to mention that the violent protests erupted across the country on May 9 after Imran Khan was arrested from the premises of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) in the Al-Qadir Trust corruption case.
Following the protests, the government launched a massive crackdown against PTI leaders and workers, and rounded up thousands of people on charges of attacking civil and military installations.
As the crackdown intensified, dozens of PTI leaders, including close confidants of Imran Khan, started jumping ship in what was described by the PTI chief as “forced divorces".
