Islamabad (Staff Report): PML-N Senator Ishaq Dar on Wednesday took oath as a federal minister.
President Arif Alvi will administer the oath to Dar at Aiwan-e-Sadar.
Dar took oath as senator on Tuesday amid protest by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's (PTI) lawmakers.
Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjarani administered the oath to Dar amid the ruckus created by the Opposition in the House.
The former finance minister returned to Pakistan on Monday after living five years in self-imposed exile in the United Kingdom (UK)
Ishaq Dar had been successfully elected to the Senate from Punjab but had been out of the country since October 2017.
Dar is expected to be sworn in as the finance minister as former finance minister Miftah Ismail formally tendered his resignation to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
