Peshawar (Web Desk): A 5.2 magnitude earthquake jolted parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) on Thursday, triggering widespread panic among residents.
The National Seismic Monitoring Centre in Islamabad identified the epicenter of the quake as being located along the border between Afghanistan and Tajikistan, at a depth of 212 kilometers.
The tremors were felt in cities such as Peshawar and Muzaffarabad, as well as in surrounding areas like North Waziristan, Lower Dir, Malakand, and Neelum Valley in AJK.
As the shaking intensified, people hurriedly evacuated their homes and offices.
No loss to human life and property was reported till filing of this report.
