Islamabad (Web Desk): The federal government has announced a reduction of Re1 per litre in petrol prices for the next fortnight, which will be effective from today (March 29, 2025).
According to the Finance Division's notification, that petrol will now cost Rs254.63 per litre, down from Rs255.63.
However, the government has opted to maintain the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) at Rs258.64 per litre.
This adjustment reflects the government's attempt to ease the financial burden on consumers, although the HSD price remains unchanged.
"The Oil & Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) has worked out the consumer prices of petroleum products, based on the price variations in the international market," the notification stated.
The government had previously maintained petroleum prices on March 15 for the fortnight.
