PM Shehbaz reaffirms Pakistan's resolve to completely eradicate polio from country 

Islamabad (Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reiterated Pakistan’s firm resolve to completely eliminate polio from the country.

In a meeting with Dr. Chris Elias, President of the Global Development Program at the Gates Foundation, in Islamabad on Wednesday, he outlined the government’s comprehensive strategy and practical measures being carried out by a dedicated team to achieve this goal.

PM Shehbaz expressed heartfelt gratitude to Bill Gates and Saudi Arabia for their support in the polio eradication campaign.

He acknowledged that, despite significant progress, urgent actions remain necessary to fully rid the country of the disease.

The prime minister highlighted that the federal government is working closely with provincial authorities to ensure polio teams have unrestricted access across all regions, guided by a well-coordinated strategy.

He added that ongoing projects under the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) supporting polio eradication will continue nationwide.

Dr. Chris Elias appreciated PM Shehbaz for his personal involvement and proactive measures in combating polio.

He recognized the effective steps Pakistan is taking toward full eradication and assured that continuous, constructive consultations with federal and provincial governments and other relevant institutions would remain a key part of the effort.
