PIA suspends flights to multiple Gulf states amid rising ME tensions

Karachi  (Web Desk): Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has temporarily suspended flights to multiple Gulf countries following the rapidly escalating conflict in the Middle East and the closure of airspace over Iran, Israel, and Iraq.

The airline has taken emergency measures in its Gulf operations to ensure passenger safety amid growing security concerns and blocked flight routes.

According to a PIA spokesperson, all flights to the United Arab Emirates, including Dubai and Abu Dhabi, as well as Bahrain, Doha (Qatar), and Kuwait, have been immediately suspended.

The airline clarified that the suspension is temporary and will remain in effect until tomorrow evening or until the affected airspace is formally reopened.

The decision comes as tensions in the region have disrupted international aviation, forcing airlines to reroute flights and adjust schedules. PIA’s Gulf operations are among the most heavily affected, given the importance of these routes for both business and leisure travelers.

Passengers with bookings to the affected destinations are being advised to contact the airline for updates and alternative arrangements. The airline also confirmed that it is closely monitoring the situation and will resume flights as soon as it is deemed safe and the airspace restrictions are lifted.

The situation highlights the wider impact of the Middle East conflict on global air travel, with several international carriers already rerouting flights to avoid restricted areas.
