Israeli attack on Iran disrupts flights across the Middle East and beyond

Dubai/Tehran  (Web Desk): The Middle East’s airspace has entered a state of crisis following direct military clashes between Iran and Israel and recent attacks in Bahrain.

In response to the escalating conflict, Iran, Israel, Iraq, and Qatar have completely closed their airspace to civilian flights. This move has blocked one of the region’s most important air corridors, connecting Europe, Asia, and the Gulf, and has caused widespread disruption to international travel.

Global airlines have urgently revised their flight schedules to avoid restricted areas. Flights originally planned for Iran, Israel, and Iraq are being rerouted, and several carriers have issued advisories warning passengers about delays and cancellations.

In addition, Iran has imposed partial telecommunications restrictions in some regions, affecting communications and operations.

Dubai International Airport remains open, but Emirates Airlines has altered its Europe-Asia flight paths to bypass Iranian and Iraqi airspace. Hamad International Airport in Doha is also operational, though Qatar Airways has suspended all flights to Iran, causing delays and changes in its schedule.

Etihad Airways is using longer alternative routes for flights departing from Abu Dhabi, which may result in extended travel times.

The airspace closures are significantly impacting passengers and trade between Europe, Asia, and the Gulf. Airlines are closely monitoring the situation and adjusting flight paths as needed, but disruptions are expected to continue as tensions persist.

Aviation authorities in the affected countries have not announced a timeline for reopening the airspace, leaving travelers and airlines on high alert for further developments.
