Pakistan, UK reaffirm commitment to deepening cooperation in diverse domains 

Islamabad (Web Desk): Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi on Thursday held an important meeting with British High Commissioner Jane Marriott at the Ministry of Interior, where the two sides reaffirmed their dedication to strengthening bilateral ties between Pakistan and the United Kingdom (UK) across various sectors.

The discussions centered around critical issues such as counterterrorism, counter-narcotics operations, border management, and human trafficking. Both representatives expressed their shared intent to enhance mutual cooperation and joint strategies to tackle these pressing challenges effectively.

During the meeting, High Commissioner Jane Marriott congratulated Minister Naqvi on being awarded the prestigious Nishan-e-Imtiaz, commending his leadership and extending warm wishes for future endeavours.

She also conveyed the UK's condolences to the people of Pakistan following the recent floods and heavy rainfall, expressing deep sympathy for the loss of lives and the suffering of affected families.

In response, Interior Minister Naqvi reiterated Pakistan's unwavering commitment to promoting peace and stability, firmly stating that the country remains a consistent advocate for peace and strongly condemns all forms of terrorism.

Highlighting the UK’s role as a key partner, Naqvi emphasized, “Britain remains an important partner in Pakistan’s journey of progress. We wish to expand bilateral cooperation with the United Kingdom in all areas of mutual interest.”

The meeting underscored a shared resolve of Pakistan and the United Kingdom for the future, emphasizing not only increased cooperation in security and law enforcement but also a desire to deepen political, economic, and humanitarian engagement between the two nations.
