Islamabad (Web Desk): The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has scheduled a crucial Executive Board meeting for May 8, where it is expected to take a final decision on the release of a $1.2 billion tranche for Pakistan under the $3 billion Stand-By Arrangement.
According to officials from the Ministry of Finance, Pakistan has successfully fulfilled all prior conditions set by the IMF, clearing the way for the disbursement of the funds without any remaining obstacles.
Authorities say the completion of these requirements reflects ongoing efforts to maintain macroeconomic stability and meet reform commitments.
The board is also expected to review and approve the third and final economic review under the Extended Fund Facility, a key step that officials describe as important for strengthening Pakistan’s overall economic outlook and ensuring continued financial support from international partners.
The upcoming decision is being closely watched in Islamabad as it is considered significant for stabilizing foreign reserves and supporting broader economic recovery efforts in the country.
