Kashmir Black Day rally in Islamabad demands end to Indian occupation

Islamabad (Web Desk): A rally was held in Islamabad on Monday to mark Kashmir Black Day, expressing unity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

The march, which began from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and ended at D-Chowk, echoed with slogans demanding freedom and justice for Kashmiris.

Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit-Baltistan and SAFRON Engr. Amir Muqam led the rally, joined by Chairman of the Parliamentary Kashmir Committee Rana Qasim Noon, Pakistan Sweet Home Patron-in-Chief Zamurad Khan, MNA Anjum Aqeel, Secretary Kashmir Affairs Zafar Hasan, Secretary Foreign Affairs Amna Baloch, and All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) leader Muhammad Farooq Rehmani. A large number of citizens representing different walks of life also participated.

Carrying banners and placards, the demonstrators strongly denounced Indian human rights violations in the occupied valley and renewed their firm support for the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination.

Speaking to participants at D-Chowk, Amir Muqam said that October 27 stands as a grim reminder of India’s forcible occupation of Jammu and Kashmir in 1947.

He said that for over seven decades, the people of Kashmir have endured relentless oppression, yet their determination for freedom and their bond with Pakistan remain steadfast.
Amir Muqam reiterated that sustainable peace in South Asia cannot be achieved without resolving the Kashmir dispute in line with the United Nations resolutions and the wishes of the Kashmiri people.

The minister affirmed that Pakistan would continue to support the Kashmiri cause until they are granted their legitimate right to self-determination.

The gathering concluded with renewed commitments of solidarity, reflecting Pakistan’s unwavering moral, diplomatic, and political backing for the people of Kashmir.
