OpenAI introduces major update to ChatGPT with direct voice chat feature

California (Web Desk): OpenAI has announced an important and useful update for its users, enhancing the functionality of the voice mode in ChatGPT. With this new change, voice chat can now be used directly within any chat on both the web version and mobile apps, a feature that was previously unavailable.

Previously, voice chat required a separate interface, but now users can start voice mode simply by clicking the microphone icon in the text field of any chat. This change ensures that the flow of the conversation is not disrupted, allowing users to ask questions or receive answers via audio while continuing the text-based conversation.

OpenAI also clarified that for users who prefer the old voice interface, they can enable the "Separate mode" option in the settings under the voice mode section.

This new feature, which was first seen in Google’s "Gemini Live," has now been integrated into ChatGPT. While ChatGPT’s voice mode may not be as advanced as Google’s, this update is expected to improve the user experience and make interactions more seamless.
