PSL 11: Karachi Kings beat Quetta Gladiators by 14 runs 

Lahore (Web Desk): Karachi Kings kicked off their Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 11 campaign in style, securing a 14-run victory over Quetta Gladiators in a closely contested second match at Gaddafi Stadium.

Chasing a competitive target of 182, Quetta Gladiators fell short, managing 167 for the loss of seven wickets in their allotted 20 overs despite a determined effort.

After winning the toss, the Quetta captain opted to field first, a decision that ultimately did not pay off as Karachi’s batting unit rose to the occasion.

English all-rounder Moeen Ali proved to be the game-changer, delivering an unbeaten 48 off just 29 balls, an innings decorated with four boundaries and three towering sixes that shifted momentum decisively in Karachi’s favor.

Captain David Warner provided early stability with a well-crafted 35, setting the tone at the top of the order, while young Mirza Saad Baig contributed a composed 30 to strengthen the innings.

Karachi Kings concluded their innings at 181 for seven, posting a formidable total on the board. For

Quetta, Ahmed Daniyal stood out with the ball, claiming three wickets, while Alzarri Joseph chipped in with two dismissals.

In response, Quetta Gladiators had a mixed start to their chase. Although they showed glimpses of resistance, Karachi’s disciplined and well-coordinated bowling attack consistently applied pressure, preventing the batters from accelerating freely.

The required run rate steadily climbed, and Quetta struggled to keep pace, eventually finishing 14 runs short of the target.

Karachi Kings also impressed in the field, displaying sharp coordination and energy that further restricted Quetta’s scoring opportunities. 
This all-round performance ensured Quetta could not build the momentum needed in the latter stages of the chase.

With this victory, Karachi Kings secured two valuable points to begin their PSL campaign on a positive note, while Quetta Gladiators will be looking to address their shortcomings ahead of their next fixture.
