COAS stresses role of effective civil bureaucracy for national development

Islamabad (Web Desk): Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir on Friday emphasized the vital role of Pakistan’s civil bureaucracy in governance while addressing probationary officers of the 52nd Common Training Program (CTP) at the Civil Services Academy (CSA).

This engagement forms part of a broader initiative aimed at fostering enhanced cooperation and understanding between the country’s civil and military leadership, according to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).

Field Marshal Munir acknowledged the strategic foresight of Pakistan’s political leadership in the wake of recent Indian aggression. On June 18, he held a historic meeting with former US President Donald Trump, marking the first time a US president hosted senior Pakistani military officials.

Speaking to the probationary officers, Munir stressed the importance of inter-institutional collaboration, mutual respect, and a unified national purpose to achieve Pakistan’s strategic and developmental goals. He called on civil officers to uphold the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and dedication to public service.

The Army Chief also addressed national security challenges, highlighting the critical role of the Pakistan Armed Forces in maintaining regional peace and national stability.

Probationary officers have been attached to various Pakistan Army formations at peace-time locations and operational areas including Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan, gaining firsthand experience of the armed forces’ operations and strategic outlook.

The ISPR stated that the officers expressed appreciation for the opportunity to engage with senior military leadership and gain insights into the Pakistan Army’s operational readiness and contributions to national resilience and development.

The session concluded with a question-and-answer segment aimed at fostering constructive dialogue and shared commitment to Pakistan’s progress.
