President Zardari lauds Field Marshal Munir, armed forces for firmly responding to Indian aggression

Garhi Khuda Bakhsh  (Web Desk): President Asif Ali Zardari emphasized that after the martyrdom of Benazir Bhutto, the slogan “Pakistan Khappay” (Pakistan is required) played a pivotal role in saving the country.

He was addressing a huge public gathering on the occasion of 18th martyrdom anniversary of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.

He said that, "Alhamdulillah, Pakistan is safe, functioning, and will continue to thrive till the end of time."

Refering to May conflict with India, he praised Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Field Marshal Asim Munir and the Armed Forces of Pakistan for swift and forceful response to the enemy.

President Zardari said that the retaliation to Indian aggression sent a strong signal that Pakistan takes any threat seriously and will not be underestimated.

He added that the encounter made it clear to India, and specifically to its Prime Minister Modi, that Pakistan’s resolve is not to be taken lightly.

Stressing the nation’s determination, he remarked that Pakistanis, as Muslims, are fully aware of how to defend their land and sovereignty.

President Zardari asserted that as the inheritor of both Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto’s legacy, he and his party are always ready for the defense of the country and make any sacrifice needed.

He reminded the audience that the Bhutto family and their followers have never backed down in the face of enemies, never hiding in bunkers. "Martyrdom comes in the battlefield, not in bunkers," he asserted.

Zardari reaffirmed that he is ready to sacrifice everything, including his life, for Pakistan if needed. He said that the PPP alone is enough to confront and challenge any enemy.

"If anyone dares to lay a hand on us, they will get a reply," he warned, reinforcing his unwavering commitment to national defense.

While addressing the country’s current issues, Zardari acknowledged that Pakistan does face difficulties, but he assured the nation that these challenges will gradually lessen over time.

Reflecting on the past, he criticized the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder without naming him and said that a "foolish" individual, over the course of five years, damaged Pakistan’s international relationships. However, he stated that now efforts are underway to restore ties with the rest of the world.

President Zardari concluded by emphasizing that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) is fully capable of defending the country.

"The PPP will continue to play an active role in ensuring the stability, security and progress of Pakistan," the president said.
