PM Shehbaz pays tribute to Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto on her death anniversary

Islamabad (Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday remembered paid tribute to former premier Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, remembering her historic struggle for democracy, the rights of the people and the strength of Pakistan’s federation.

According to a press release issued by the PM Office Media Wing, in his message marking BB’s martyrdom anniversary, the prime minister said the nation was commemorating the sacrifice of one of Pakistan’s most remarkable daughters, whose life and leadership symbolized courage and democratic resilience.

PM Shehbaz said Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto championed democratic values grounded in tolerance and mutual respect, and worked to instill a spirit of patience and accommodation in political life, which he described as a defining aspect of her leadership.

The prime minister said the services rendered by Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto to the country and its people would remain etched in history, adding that her political legacy was deeply rooted in patriotism.

He further said that Shaheed Benazir Bhutto took meaningful steps to enhance the role of women, ensure protection of minority rights and guide Pakistan toward becoming a peaceful, progressive and democratic state, noting that her sacrifices and contributions continue to illuminate the nation’s path.

The prime minister stressed the importance of renewing the collective resolve to carry forward the principles of tolerance, patience, rule of law and public welfare for which Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto laid down her life.

He also offered prayers for the elevation of the departed soul of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and for patience and strength for her family and admirers.
