Afghan Taliban will be left isolated, leading to their downfall: Defence Minister Khawaja Asif

Islamabad (Web Desk): Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has accused several leaders of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party of engaging in anti-Pakistan activities while living abroad, causing harm to the national interests.

In a statement on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Khawaja Asif alleged that PTI’s fugitive leaders, after looting the country, fled abroad and are now living luxurious lives by collecting funds from Pakistanis. He challenged these leaders to return to Pakistan and face political competition if they had the courage.

The Defense Minister further stated that some PTI leaders are lobbying in Europe against Pakistan's GSP+ status, which he described as an act of treason. He pointed out that even though political challenges were faced by leaders like Benazir Bhutto and Nawaz Sharif, they never harmed the state or national interests.

Khawaja Asif also claimed that PTI founder Imran Khan and his team had initially written to the IMF, attempting to plunge Pakistan into an economic crisis, and are now lobbying internationally to damage the country’s exports.

He harshly remarked that if these actions were carried out by India, it would be understandable, but when those who claim to be Pakistani adopt such behaviors, they must be called "traitors and enemies of the homeland."
