Rawalpindi (Staff Report): Hundreds of suspects including 24 Afghan and Uzbek nationals were arrested during search operation across Punjab and Sindh provinces in the wee hours of Sunday.
According to security forces, 45 suspects were detained during the search operations in Vehari, Burewala and Mailsi. Police conducted raids on hotels, bus stations, guest houses as more than 1000 policemen participated in it.
The police checked identity cards of people to make sure that people were Pakistan’s registered citizens. Meanwhile police arrested 12 Afghans in Pindi Bhattian and a huge cache of arms was also recovered from their possession.
ISPR confirmed in a statement that 600 suspects were arrested in more than 200 raids conducted across Punjab.
On the other hand in Karachi, 70 suspects were detained during search operations in the areas of Gulberg, Joharabad, Azizabad, Haideri Market, Taimuria, New Karachi.
