US sends Iran 15-point plan to end war: report

Washington / Tehran (Web Desk): A recent report by a leading US newspaper has revealed that the United States (US) has presented Iran with a 15-point peace proposal aimed at defusing rising tensions in the Middle East and averting the risk of a potential war.

The plan imposes stringent conditions on Tehran, designed to sharply curtail its nuclear program and regional influence.

According to the report, the most critical and sensitive aspect of the US proposal is a complete ban on the enrichment of nuclear material on Iranian soil.

Washington has demanded the full dismantling of Iran’s key nuclear facilities at Natanz, Isfahan, and Fordow, insisting that Tehran refrain from any nuclear activity in the future.

The plan also calls on Iran to immediately halt funding and military support for all its regional proxies and allied groups. US officials argue that Tehran’s backing of these groups is a major source of instability across the region.

On trade and maritime matters, the proposal suggests the establishment of a “free maritime zone” in the Strait of Hormuz to ensure uninterrupted global oil supplies and the safe passage of commercial vessels.

Political analysts say that the 15-point plan may be difficult for Iran to accept, given Tehran’s longstanding stance that its nuclear program serves peaceful purposes and is integral to its national sovereignty.

While Iran has yet to issue an official response, the proposal could represent a significant turning point in regional politics.
