President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, along with political, religious and civil society leaders across the country expressed their condolences over the death of COAS General Asim Munir’s mother.
The president and the premier expressed deep sorrow, offering prayers for the departed soul and support to the grieving family.
In a statement, President Zardari extended condolence and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family in this hour of grief.
“We share the grief of General Syed Asim Munir over his mother’s passing. My heartfelt condolences go out to the bereaved family during this difficult time,” the president said.
He prayed to Allah Almighty for peace for the departed soul and strength for the bereaved family to bear the loss.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also extended his heartfelt condolence over the passing of the mother of COAS Syed Asim Munir.
In a statement, the prime minister expressed solidarity with the bereaved family in this hour of grief.
He also prayed to Allah Almighty for the eternal peace of the departed soul.
Senate Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani expressed deep sorrow over the passing of the mother of COAS General Syed Asim Munir.
In his condolence message, Gilani said he was deeply saddened by the news and acknowledged that losing a mother is an immense sorrow.
He expressed solidarity with General Syed Asim Munir and his family in this difficult time.
The Senate Chairman prayed for the departed soul’s forgiveness and a high place in the hereafter, saying, “May Allah grant the deceased His infinite mercy and give strength and patience to the grieving family.”
Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq described the loss as “irreplaceable,” calling parents a priceless gift.
“Losing them is a great sorrow,” he said, affirming his support for the army chief during this difficult time.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also extended his sympathies and offered prayers for the elevation of the deceased’s rank in the hereafter.
Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman described a mother’s passing as a great loss and prayed for her forgiveness and strength for the army chief's family.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif expressed sorrow over the death and offered condolences to the bereaved family, saying the loss of a parent is profoundly painful.
Meanwhile, Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) leader Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui also expressed condolence over the demise of Gen Asim Munir's mother.
