In meeting with CM Bugti, Naqvi reaffirms federal govt’s support for lasting peace in Balochistan

Quetta (Web Desk): Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited Quetta on Saturday, where he met with Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti to discuss the province's overall law and order situation and key security challenges.

The two leaders also co-chaired a high-level meeting on law and order in Balochistan, during which participants reviewed the province's prevailing security situation and discussed measures aimed at strengthening peace and stability.

The meeting decided to further enhance the professional capacity and operational capabilities of the Balochistan Counter Terrorism Force (CTF) and the provincial police to improve their effectiveness in combating terrorism and maintaining public security.

Officials also reviewed the ongoing efforts to maintain law and order across the province and deliberated on future strategies to address security threats more effectively.

Speaking on the occasion, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi reaffirmed the federal government's commitment to supporting Balochistan in its efforts to establish lasting peace.

He said Islamabad would continue to provide every possible assistance to the provincial government in improving the security environment.

Naqvi stressed that the immediate and effective implementation of a comprehensive master plan for restoring peace was the need of the hour.

He also underscored the importance of strengthening the capabilities of security institutions and continuing coordinated efforts to eliminate terrorism from the province.
