Islamabad (Web Desk): The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday restored the powers of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Islamabad for issuing MPO temporarily.
According to details, the orders were issued by Chief Justice (CJ) IHC Aamir Farooq and Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri
The court restored the powers of DC Islamabad on the plea for stay order.
The IHC suspended its single bench's decision to stop DC Islamabad from issuing the MPO order, issuing a notice to the parties on the appeal of the chief commissioner and others against the decision.
It is pertinent to mention that Justice Babar Sattar while presiding over a single bench had declared the power of DC Islamabad for issuing MPO illegal pertaining to the case of arresting Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders Shehryar Afridi and Shandana Gulzar under the order.
Chief Commissioner and interior secretary filed intra court appeal against the single bench's decision, on which the court issued notices to the parties.
