Islamabad (Staff Report): Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar on Thursday, halts country-wide distribution of 24 mineral water companies over poor quality, the sources reported.
The CJP Nisar headed a three-member bench while hearing of the provision of clean water case today. The counsel for the defendant mineral water company claimed that the water provided is clean and safe for drinking.
The company’s lawyer said, “The court can summon the Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority (PCSQA) report if required.”
CJP remarked that hiring an influential lawyer will not manipulate the outcomes of the hearing.
He added, “Companies should have the consciousness to provide clean water, we have to care for the people and the children.”
The court then ordered distribution of all 24 companies to be stopped until further notice.
Moreover, the court adjourned the hearing for indefinitely.
