Islamabad (Staff Report): Pakistan on Wednesday imposed duty up to Rs 56 per kilogram import of cotton thread from India’s Tamil Nadu, Ludhiana, Andhra Pradesh, Chennai and other cities.
According to Cotton Ginners Forum Ehsanul Haq, price of the best available cotton in market has soared by Rs 200 to Rs 7000/maund.
Imported cotton was causing huge losses to domestic farmers.
