Field Marshal Asim Munir attends Christmas celebrations at Rawalpindi's Christ Church

Islamabad (Web Desk): Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF)Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has stated that the protection of minority rights is a cornerstone of Pakistan's ideology.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir visited Christ Church in Rawalpindi where he participated in Christmas celebrations. During the event, he extended his heartfelt Christmas greetings to the Christian community and expressed his best wishes for peace, harmony, and prosperity.

In a tribute to the Father of the Nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, on his birth anniversary, Field Marshal Munir highlighted that, in line with Jinnah's vision, equality, religious freedom, and constitutional values form the foundation of Pakistan. He emphasized the significance of interfaith harmony and national unity, stating that the protection of minority rights is a crucial pillar of Pakistan’s ideology.

Field Marshal Munir noted that Pakistan’s true strength lies in equal opportunities and constitutional values. He also acknowledged the valuable contributions of the Christian community to the nation’s development and security, specifically recognizing their generations-long service in the armed forces as a proud example of patriotism and national unity.

He further stated that the armed forces are committed to safeguarding the equal rights of all citizens. On this occasion, Christian leaders expressed their gratitude for the Field Marshal’s visit and praised the role of the armed forces in supporting the nation’s values.
