Civil, military leadership renews pledge to follow Quaid-e Azam's vision

Islamabad (Web Desk): On the occasion of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s birth anniversary, President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif reiterated their resolve to lead the country in line with the vision of the Father of the Nation, renewing their shared commitment to Pakistan’s advancement and prosperity

In their separate messages, the two leaders described the day as a moment of national reflection, recalling the steadfast belief, tireless effort, and sense of purpose that ultimately shaped the creation of Pakistan. They said Quaid-e-Azam’s struggle and leadership continue to provide direction for the country as it navigates present-day realities.

President Zardari, highlighting the continued relevance of Quaid-e-Azam’s legacy, called on the nation to once again embrace the democratic and inclusive principles laid down by the Founder of Pakistan.

Paying homage to the Quaid, he said his vision and leadership remain a guiding light in addressing contemporary political, social, and economic challenges.

The president said Quaid-e-Azam personified determination, perseverance, and commitment, qualities that formed the cornerstone of Pakistan’s foundation.

He stressed that the ideals of democracy, justice, and equality espoused by the Quaid are integral to the nation’s journey and must remain at the heart of state institutions and decision-making processes.

President Zardari added that the message of unity, faith, and discipline continues to offer a clear path toward national progress, social harmony, and confidence.

Looking ahead to the 150th birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam next year, the president said that the milestone offers a valuable opportunity to thoughtfully revisit the Quaid’s life and struggle and to renew dedication to his vision, ensuring that his principles are passed on to future generations with integrity and purpose.

He urged Pakistanis, particularly the younger generation, to uphold these ideals and play an active role in building a peaceful, inclusive, and progressive Pakistan, saying that unity and resilience would help the nation overcome its challenges.

In his message, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that Quaid-e-Azam’s unwavering commitment to democracy, justice, and equality remains central to Pakistan’s national outlook and is essential for sustained development, social cohesion, and collective confidence.

Separately, Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf, and Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, on behalf of the Armed Forces of Pakistan, paid heartfelt tribute to the Father of the Nation.

According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the armed forces reaffirmed their determination to defend the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and to contribute fully to national stability, peace, and development in line with the ideals and aspirations of Quaid-e-Azam.

The armed forces also conveyed warm Christmas greetings to Pakistan’s Christian community, acknowledging their meaningful contributions to the nation’s progress and development.
