Islamabad (Web Desk): Iran has described Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir's visit to Iran as highly fruitful.
In a statement, Deputy for Communications and Information at the Iranian President's Office, Seyed Mehdi Tabatabaei, said Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir's visit was replete with “highly valuable diplomatic achievements”.
In a post shared on X, Tabatabaei rejected what he called “inaccurate media speculation” surrounding the visit and maintained that the results of the discussions would “soon become apparent”.
“Contrary to some inaccurate media speculation, the visit of Field Marshal Asim Munir, commander of the army of friendly Pakistan, to Iran was highly fruitful and yielded highly valuable diplomatic achievements,” he said.

The remarks followed Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi’s statement earlier in the day that “significant progress” had been achieved in discussions with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian during his recent Tehran visit alongside CDF Field Marshal Asim Munir.
“Significant progress was made, and the meeting concluded on a highly positive note. We remain hopeful that this momentum will help pave the way for further progress and lasting peace in the region,” Naqvi said in a post on X.
The comments came after Field Marshal Munir and Naqvi completed their day-long trip to Tehran on Monday.
During the visit, the Pakistani delegation sought to help overcome the deadlock surrounding the ongoing US-Iran conflict, facilitate the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and encourage a negotiated resolution aimed at ending the conflict and reducing broader instability across the region.
Following their meeting with President Pezeshkian, Naqvi described his and Field Marshal Munir’s discussions with the Iranian leader as “very positive and productive”.
“Our discussion focused on the US-Iran conflict, tensions in the Middle East and the way forward, as well as the steps needed by both sides for restoration of the Islamabad MoU thereby leading to comprehensive settlement of the conflict,” Interior Minister Naqvi said.
