Field Marshal Asim Munir's official visit to the US, meetings held with senior political, military leadership

Rawalpindi (Web Desk): Pakistan’s Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir paid an official visit to the United States, where he held meetings with senior American political and military leadership and also met with members of the Pakistani diaspora.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Field Marshal attended the retirement ceremony of U.S. Central Command’s outgoing Commander, General Michael E. Kurilla, in Tampa, and participated in the change-of-command ceremony where Admiral Brad Cooper assumed command.

On this occasion, Field Marshal Asim Munir praised General Kurilla's leadership and acknowledged his role in strengthening Pakistan-U.S. military relations. He extended best wishes to Admiral Cooper and emphasized the importance of cooperation in addressing mutual security challenges.

During the visit, the Field Marshal also met with Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Dan Cane, and discussed professional matters of mutual interest. He invited General Cane to visit Pakistan, and also held informal meetings with defense chiefs of friendly countries.

The Army Chief participated in an interactive session with the Pakistani-American community, urging them to maintain confidence in Pakistan’s bright future and to play an active role in the country’s development. Members of the diaspora reaffirmed their commitment to supporting Pakistan’s progress.
