PSL 10: Quetta Gladiators set 143-run target for Karachi Kings 

Lahore (Web Desk): In a commanding display of pace and precision, Hasan Ali led the charge for Karachi Kings as they comfortably dismantled Quetta Gladiators, bowling them out for a modest 142 in just under 20 overs during their PSL Season 10 encounter in Lahore.

Opting to bowl first after winning the toss, Karachi’s decision paid immediate dividends. Quetta’s top order was left in disarray as both openers were dismissed within the first two overs, with skipper Saud Shakeel falling early for 6 and Finn Allen departing without scoring on the very next ball. Hasan Ali then delivered a beauty to clean up Rilee Rossouw, pushing Quetta into deeper trouble at 20 for 3.

Though Kusal Mendis attempted to inject some life into the innings with a flurry of aggressive strokes, his 36 from 22 balls ended abruptly when he edged one to James Vince off Abbas Afridi.

What followed was a steady procession of wickets as Quetta’s middle order faltered. Mark Chapman, Mohammad Wasim, and Mohammad Amir offered little resistance, leaving the innings heavily reliant on the lower order.

Faheem Ashraf’s explosive 43 off 27 provided a brief spark, striking several boundaries and clearing the ropes three times, while Hasan Nawaz added a patient 35.

However, their efforts only delayed the inevitable as the disciplined Karachi attack continued to chip away. Hasan Ali, the star of the show, finished with 3 for 33 from his 3.3 overs. Abbas Afridi struck twice, and Mir Hamza’s miserly spell yielded two wickets for just 24 runs. Fawad Ali and Mohammad Nabi also played their part with a wicket each, ensuring Quetta never found the rhythm to post a threatening score.

As the Gladiators were bundled out with only three players reaching double figures, the Karachi Kings walked off the field with confidence and momentum on their side—fresh from their last-over win against Peshawar.

Meanwhile, Quetta now finds itself searching for answers after a second consecutive defeat, desperately in need of a turnaround to keep their campaign alive.
