Islamabad (Web Desk): The Islamabad High Court on Tuesday disposed of petition regarding Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former premier Imran Khan’s military trial after receiving a response from the federal government.

Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb presided over the hearing.

During the proceedings, Additional Attorney General (AAG) Munawar Iqbal Duggal, representing the federal government, informed the court that no final decision has been made yet about proceeding with the trial.

He stated that if such a trial is pursued, it will be conducted in accordance with Rule 549, following the necessary legal procedure.

The AAG further informed the court that in the event of a military trial, the process would start with a request to a civil magistrate.

Following the government's response, the IHC closed the petition regarding the PTI founder’s military trial.
