Islamabad (Staff Report/Agencies): Former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and federal minister Faisal Vawda on Wednesday claimed that ex-director general of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Lt-Gen (retd) Faiz Hameed was the mastermind and the “biggest beneficiary” in £190 million Al-Qadir Trust case.
On Tuesday, PTI Chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan appeared before the National Accountability Bureau to join the investigation of charges against him linked to the Al Qadir Trust case.
The case alleges that the former premier and his wife Bushra Bibi obtained billions of rupees and land worth hundreds of kanals from Bahria Town Ltd for legalising Rs50 billion, which was later identified and returned to the country by the UK during the tenure of the PTI government.
Earlier the day, Imran Khan along with his wife Bushra Bibi reached the Islamabad judicial complex. Bushra Bibi appeared before the accountability court to seek a protective bail in the Al-Qadir Trust case.
The court approved the former lady’s bail till May 31 against surety bonds worth Rs500,000. The court also took her signatures to ensure the submission of surety bonds, before issuing a notice to the investigation officer (IO).
