PM Shehbaz reaffirms Pakistan's unwavering solidarity with Saudi Arabia, Qatar

Islamabad (Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with the ambassadors of Saudi Arabia and Qatar on Tuesday to discuss the rapidly evolving situation in the Middle East, following a reported Iranian missile attack on a US military base in Qatar.

The meetings focused on regional stability and the shared commitment to peace through dialogue and diplomacy.

After his meeting with Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Saeed Al Malkiy, the prime minister shared a message on his X account, stating that Pakistan would continue to work closely with Saudi Arabia to promote peace in the region.

During the meeting, he conveyed his prayers and well wishes for the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, as well as for Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

PM Shehbaz reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong and unwavering solidarity with the people of Saudi Arabia, emphasizing the close and brotherly relations between the two nations.

In his discussion with the Ambassador of Qatar, Ali Mubarak Ali Essa Al-Khater, PM Shehbaz expressed solidarity with the Amir and the people of Qatar in the wake of Monday night’s attack.

He offered prayers for the safety and security of the Qatari people and stressed that peace in the region could only be achieved through diplomatic efforts.

The prime minister reiterated Pakistan’s long-held position that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only sustainable path to peace in the Middle East.

The in-person meetings followed telephonic conversations the prime minister held with both ambassadors on Monday night.

During those calls, he expressed deep concern over the reports of missile attacks targeting the US military base in Qatar. He called for all parties to take immediate steps toward de-escalation and emphasized the importance of restoring peace in the region.

The Qatari ambassador expressed his gratitude to the prime minister for promptly reaching out after the incident and for Pakistan’s expression of solidarity during a time of uncertainty.

Meanwhile, during the call with the Saudi ambassador, the prime minister reiterated his commitment to peaceful resolution and regional stability.

The Saudi envoy thanked the prime minister and agreed on the need for continued collaboration and coordination between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan to help bring about a peaceful end to the current crisis in the Middle East.
