Lahore (Staff Report): An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Lahore on Wednesday approved physical remand of at least 196 student of University of the Punjab involved in a clash that left about12 injured.
The suspects were brought to the court under tight security.
Police informed the court that, during the clash, the students had damaged two cars and five motorcycles, adding that dozens of students were injured in the clash.
After hearing the arguments, the court granted police physical remand of the students.
On Monday, a brawl had erupted between two student groups ─ Islami Jamiat Tulba (IJT) and the Pukhtun Baloch Council ─ over holding of the Pioneer Festival by the IJT to welcome newcomers on the ground of the College of Electrical Engineering Department. At least ten students and two police officials were injured in the clash.
