Karachi (Web Desk): Anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Karachi has extended physical remand of Rehman Bholla, a key accused in the Baldia Town factory fire case, till December 29.
Earlier, the accused was handed over to the police on physical remand till Monday (today); however, ATC extended his physical remand till 29th of this month.
The accused has admitted that he set the factory ablaze on the orders of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Hammad Siddiqui after the factory owner refused to pay Rs. 250 million extortion money (bhatta).
Rehman Bholla was recently arrested by Interpol police in Bangkok and brought back to Karachi by a team of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
Around 260 people had died in the tragic fire incident.
