Karak / Bannu: In a tragic and horrifying incident in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s (KP) Kurram, terrorists from the group ‘Fitna al-Khawarij’ targeted a Rescue 1122 ambulance, burning injured personnel alive.
The attack occurred on February 23, 2026, near the FC post at Qila Shaheedan, when the militants launched an assault using a quadcopter drone.
Immediately after the attack, two Rescue 1122 ambulances rushed to the scene to provide medical assistance and evacuate the injured personnel.
During their return, the terrorists ambushed the ambulances. One ambulance was set on fire, trapping the injured inside, who were unable to escape and perished on the spot.
The second ambulance, through the bravery of its crew, successfully evacuated the wounded.
The fire also caused severe burns to the ambulance driver and other rescue personnel.
The personnel martyred in the attack included Sepoy Murad Gul and Sepoy Ayan Khan from Hangu District, and Lance Naik Adil Khan from Mansehra District.
Several others, including Havildar Sabir, Muhammad Yousaf, Hanif, and ambulance driver Ahmed Hussain, are receiving treatment for serious injuries at hospitals in Bannu and Kurram.
The militants recorded the entire act of brutality and circulated it on social media, aiming to spread fear among the public.
By targeting the wounded and unarmed medical staff during the holy month of Ramadan, the attackers made it clear that their actions have no connection to Islam or Pashtun traditions.
Security sources emphasized that the blood of these brave personnel will not go in vain and that the Government of Pakistan will continue its operations until the last terrorist is eliminated.
