12 global bidders vie for two new PSL franchises

Lahore (Web Desk): The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) revealed on Wednesday that it has received bids from 12 interested parties across five continents for the two newly available franchises in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Describing the response as “exceptional and encouraging,” the PCB expressed delight at the high level of interest in acquiring the new teams, highlighting the league’s increasing global stature.

All bids were submitted before the deadline, reflecting strong international enthusiasm. Prospective owners come from diverse locations, including the United States, Australia, Canada, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Pakistan, a clear indication of the PSL’s expanding global footprint and commercial appeal.

According to the PCB, the outcome of this first stage will be announced on 27 December. Those who meet the technical requirements will advance to the next phase, where the two franchises will be awarded through a transparent, competitive bidding process set for 8 January at the Islamabad Convention Centre.

The PCB reiterated its commitment to conducting the process in line with international best practices, ensuring fairness while fostering the continued growth and international prominence of the PSL.
