Chinese FM praises Pakistani army as pillar of national stability, strong guardian of Pakistan-China friendship

Islamabad/Beijing (Web Desk): Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi held an important meeting with Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, in Dhaka, where both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the longstanding ties between Pakistan and China. According to a statement issued by the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Wang Yi described the Pakistani military as a crucial pillar of national stability and a vigilant protector of the robust friendship and strategic cooperation between the two countries.

Wang Yi highlighted that the Pakistani army has consistently supported the implementation of key agreements made between the leaderships of both nations, which has fostered deep trust and enhanced cooperation. He emphasized that in a world marked by increasing uncertainty, nurturing Pakistan-China relations is essential for regional peace and stability.

The Chinese foreign minister also underscored China’s unwavering commitment to prioritizing Pakistan in its diplomatic engagements with neighboring countries. Despite challenges and global uncertainties, the ties between the two nations have grown stronger. Wang Yi assured that China would continue to support Pakistan’s sovereignty and national security and applauded Pakistan’s growing role on the international stage.

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir referred to China as Pakistan’s “iron friend,” stating that both countries have always stood by each other through thick and thin, forging an exceptional friendship. He described the Pakistan-China strategic partnership as rock-solid and expressed that maintaining friendly relations with China is a shared consensus across Pakistan. He also thanked the Chinese leadership for its invaluable support in Pakistan’s economic and social development.

The Field Marshal reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing counterterrorism and security cooperation and assured that efforts to safeguard Chinese personnel, projects, and institutions in Pakistan would continue unabated. He stated that steps would be taken to further strengthen the Pakistan-China friendship through new initiatives and ongoing collaboration.
