Islamabad: Caretaker Health Minister Dr Nadeem Jan has said that Pakistan will host Global Health Security Summit in October.
Addressing a National Health Security Workshop, Dr Jan said several health experts and donors will participate in the summit and will formulate a plan to prevent the disease before its invasion. Stressing the need of vaccine equity, he urged rich countries to provide forty percent vaccine to poor countries in case of the outbreak of any pandemic.
The minister said Pakistan is developing its ties with South Africa and Brazil to build its capacity of the vaccine manufacturing which will enable us to effectively respond to any pandemic.
Terming Global Health Security as pivotal for multifarious reasons, he said it not only builds the capacity but it effectively prevents, detects and responds the pandemic.
