Justice Anwaarul Haq takes oath as Chief Justice Lahore High Court

Lahore (Staff Report): Justice Muhammad Anwaarul Haq took oath as 47th Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday.

Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar administered oath to the new chief justice at a ceremony held at Governor House.

Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar, high court judges, provincial ministers, office bearers of the Pakistan Bar Council, Lahore High Court Bar Association and Lahore Bar Association, provincial and federal law officers attended the ceremony.

On Monday, President Arif Alvi appointed Justice Anwaarul Haq as the new chief justice replacing Justice Yawar Ali.

Justice Anwaarul Haq will serve as Chief Justice Lahore High Court till December 31, 2018.

Meanwhile, a notification issued on Monday stated that six other are appointed as additional judges to the court.

These include Justices Mujahid Mustaqim Ahmad, Asjad Javaid Ghural, Tariq Saleem Sheikh, Jawad Hassan, Muzammil Akhtar Shabir and Justice Chaudhry Abdul Aziz.
